Chat Rooms

There are several chat rooms used by different members of the community.

GlassFish AppServer Chat room

The GlassFish community uses #glassfish at freenode.net (use irc://irc.freenode.net).

To chat you first need an IRC client. Then, the first time you will need to register using 

NickServ REGISTER ''yourPassword''

Note that yourPassword is not secured. In later visits you will be using that password to identify yourself with the command 

NickServ IDENTIFY ''yourPassword''
To join the GlassFish channel, then 
/join #glassfish

Installing Clients

There are many clients available free and xchat seems be the most popular: http://www.xchat.org/

Checkout free Win32 XChat clients: http://silenceisdefeat.org/~b0at/xchat/win32/ There is a list at http://www.irc.org/links.html

(you will need to configure your http proxy if you are inside a firewall)
