Theme

"Up and Running with GlassFish"

The theme is to get users up and running with GlassFish/JavaEE SDK.
Users/Developers can expect total 1 hour of presentations focussed towards installation, cluster setup, tools and administration, Web 2.0 and a short spiel on JAPS. This will be followed by 1 hour of face time with various groups within the application server group. We will have tables setup for the following areas:

• Install and Ready Table: Assist developers to help them install the application server.
• Clustering/Management Table: Assist developers through clustering and management related issues.
• Developer Tools: Acquaint them with Netbeans and Eclipse plugin.
• Java EE Technologies: About 2 tables with representation from various groups like EJB, Persistence, Web and some spec leads.
• Web 2.0 features demos/walkthroughs.
• JAPS groups: Tell developers if they want to go above and beyond Java EE SDK/GF - they can use JAPS. Representation from groups like Portal, AM and OpenESB.

Meetup.com: It allows us to track individual RSVP's. Though it is paid site (12 per month for 6months and 20 per month) to create a group. Individuals can sign in for free. I presume we have budget for something like this ;-)
